The project’s success was driven by two key strengths: strategic storytelling that humanised the brand and efficient multi-day production planning that maximised content output. However, the project also revealed two key learning opportunities — the importance of coordinating client schedules to ensure the right participants are present and separating photography and videography sessions to prevent workflow interference. Ultimately, the project strengthened Felt Film’s reputation for delivering high-impact, value-driven content that balances creativity and marketing strategy.

Camden College, a leading provider of trade industry courses, approached Felt Film with a request to create a series of social media ads aimed at increasing brand awareness and promoting their range of courses. Initially, the client envisioned a simple project consisting of still images with music and text overlays. However, through in-depth discussions and strategic input from Felt Film, the project evolved into a comprehensive video and photography package that delivered far greater value and impact.
Pre-Production
During pre-production, Felt Film provided a range of deliverables to ensure a smooth shoot. These included shot lists, scripts, and a content schedule. The team coordinated closely with Camden College’s marketing manager to ensure key staff members and students would be available on shoot days. However, an oversight by the marketing manager led to a lack of students being present for the first shoot. This was quickly addressed, and a second shoot was scheduled to capture the remaining content. Felt Film’s professionalism and adaptability helped maintain trust with the client, who appreciated the willingness to return and complete the project.
Post-Production
The post-production process was well-organised and efficient. Felt Film categorised the content into three main types: promotional videos, mini-podcasts, and staff interviews. The team used bold, corporate-style motion graphics to align with Camden College’s branding and ensure the videos were engaging and professional. Each video was carefully edited to meet the original goal of increasing brand awareness and product visibility. Captions, music, and pacing were all tailored to grab attention on social media and convey key messages effectively.
Onboarding
The initial brief from Camden College was to produce a series of static image ads with music for social media. However, during the initial meeting, it became clear that a more dynamic approach was needed to achieve their marketing goals. Felt Film pitched a more ambitious project, proposing a budget increase to $4,000-$5,000 in exchange for a series of promotional videos, mini-podcasts, and branded photography. The client appreciated the strategic approach and agreed to move forward with the expanded scope.
Production
The production phase was split into two days. The first shoot focused on staff interviews, promotional videos for 12 courses, and mini-podcasts. The second shoot was dedicated to capturing interactions between students and teachers, which brought a more authentic, relatable feel to the content. One of the key creative strategies was to use podcast-style videos where students shared their experiences at Camden College in a candid, conversational format. The team also encountered a unique challenge: capturing both photography and videography simultaneously led to some unusable video footage due to flash interference. This lesson reinforced the importance of scheduling photography and videography separately for optimal results.
Delivery!
The final videos were delivered via Dropbox, with two rounds of revisions offered. However, only one round was needed, as the client was very happy with the content. Camden College loved the videos and photography, praising Felt Film for their professionalism and strategic input. The project included 12 promotional videos, several mini-podcasts, and a collection of branded photography that enhanced the college’s website and social media presence.

The project was a significant success for both Camden College and Felt Film. Camden College achieved their goal of increasing brand awareness through engaging, authentic content that resonated with their audience. The partnership also reinforced Felt Film’s reputation for delivering high-quality, value-driven content that aligns with clients' marketing goals.
